Ok, so Marisa called me up in the second half of the World Cup and said, "You must go watch this! It's a really good game! Hot guys!" Or something like that. So I headed down with my laptop and my cup of chai, and now I'm half-attending to it. (OMG, American soccer announcers blow. Endured about 50 seconds before I switched to Mexican.)

I just happened to look up with some hot medic rubbing salve on a hot guy's upper thigh, and the next shot was a hot guy squirting water all over himself... Dear god, this game could hardly get more fan-service... Unless they get shirtless. They're all dramatic. I'm really hoping for some shirtlessness when someone wins. Hee hee hee.

Reminds me of legends of a Call of Cthulhu character from a group some of my friends were in... Apparently CoC decided the 3 basic attacks humans could make were kick, punch, and headbutt. So this guy divided all of his points between Wealth/Contacts and Headbutt. He knew 1 in 4 people in the world. They'd walk into a tiny village in Nepal, and the villagers would be like, "Hey, it's Tom! How ya been! How'sabout a headbutt?!"

Yes on all counts. they do usually take their shirts off, when the game is over, and exchange them with someone on the opposite team as a keepsake. I've watched most of the 64 games in the Cup, but then I'm a fan. :-

re: the headbutt, I'd love to know what the Italian player said to Zidane to get that reaction!

Same here. Whatever he said, it was the quip that may well have won the World Cup. Zidane was one of France's best PKers.
