Bah.
Edward Ferrars was different from Willoughby only because he held true to his promises; he stood by Lucy while Willoughby abandoned Eliza. They both toyed with the affections of the sisters and did not think of the harm they were doing, and offered no apology at the time. Colonel Brandon was always true, and moreover was an interesting conversationalist and a practical fellow. To my mind there are two ok marriages where there could be one great marriage and a free radical available to bond with someone new and interesting and sterling.
I suppose, though, the sudden twist in affections at the end isn't likely, nor is it in the style of the book. Ahwell. It was quite a passable entertainment despite.
Back to _The Three Musketeers_ for me! Most recently I'd paused just when D'Artagnan was tasked with the mission to England; the lady next to me on the plane to ACUS started talking to me. Having both Dumas and Austen in my consciousness is engendering interesting story ideas.

What?! Milady is untrue?!
