I look on this "52-book challenge" thing many of my friends are doing with bemusement. For me, that would be like saying, "In 2006, I will play at least 52 hours of Civilization." "Gee, I don't do nearly enough crack: an ounce a week in 2006!"
It's nearly 2 in the morning. I'm just saying. ;)

Date: 2006-01-22 04:00 am (UTC)I think the last time I had a real, hard core marathon of reading that really stood out for me was when I sat down and read one of L. Ron Hubbard's "Mission: Earth" books in 5 or 6 hours. And that was back in junior high. But then, in junior high I had very few friends and a lot of time on my hands in the summer. I'd ride my bike to the library (5 miles away) once a week and get a bag of books that I'd bring home and plow through. I usually don't have the time or focus to do that now.

Date: 2006-01-22 07:27 pm (UTC)I don't have the binge problem, though. I usually have at least two books going at a time, and I'll just read parts of them at a time. (I'm not sure how to treat some things, though. In my reading list, I usually include graphic novels and occaisionally short books or young adult books.)
