Oh, hell. When [livejournal.com profile] cochese and [livejournal.com profile] miabarimen missed me, I figured I'd gotten off scot free. Damn you, [livejournal.com profile] ameer_tavakoli!!
Ground rules: The first player of this "game" starts with the topic "Five Weird Habits of Yourself" and the people who get tagged need to then write a LJ entry about their five quirky little habits as well as state the rules of this game clearly. In the end, you need to list the next five people who you want to tag.
  1. I make disparaging comments to myself in a language that doesn't exist.

  2. If I were a Dogs in the Vineyard character I'd have traits like, "Pile things on top of other things..."

  3. ...and "Create Odious Metaphor." 2d8.

  4. I never use bookmarks. I just flip to where I left off.

  5. I take photos of the way light goes through colored translucent things. A lot. Like, I have a dozen photos where I was attempting to capture the way the sun made a piece of beef jerky glow with beauty. I got to see them on my sister's huge projection screen when we were looking though pictures from when she came to visit... The photos of light through cranberry juice or pear cider turned out much better.

Aw, I figured you were joshing me on purpose. Now I'm all sad. ;) Actually, I'm pleased we think alike. Not damaging books = high on the list. And I don't actually memorize page number... Just relative location, and I read a sentence or two and see if I've read it yet.

I'm not very good at joshing :)
Emma, depressingly, DOES remember page numbers. Alternatively she puts something very large only JUST inside the page, well away from the spine.

I'm enjoying seeing your comments come flying by.
Cheers

"I never use bookmarks. I just flip to where I left off."

You must know that this is a Crime Against Humanity. It's the first step down that slippery slope of Sin. Why, you probably read the last few pages of a book first also. Heck, next thing you know you'll be kicking puppies and eating kittens. Repent now, before it's too late!

"Why, you probably read the last few pages of a book first also." Mom does that. It is evil! She also will read a book before she gives it to you. A brand new book! I will never be that evil. No, never.

GASP! A new book! Before it is gifted! Doesn't she know the we Can Tell? We would NEVER do that... well... except to check books given to younger relatives. Just to check them for cheese you understand. Oh. Like your Mom?

I do that, as long as the book is nonfiction.

I'm left-handed. 'nuff said.

Reading the last few pages is one of my highest compliments to the author! By doing so I'm saying "I know you're going to do an outstanding job of getting to the end and I want to appreciate everything you do to make the ending inevitable". Evil Mom - my eye! XXX

Nah, it's something much worse than a crime against humanity....a crime against yourself.
