An involved meme I got from [livejournal.com profile] follybard:
1. Pick fifteen(!) films you love/thoroughly enjoyed.
2. Find screen captures (stills) for each film, preferably from scenes you like. If you can't find a still, pick a new movie.
3. Post the pictures with the rules; let your readers guess which still is from which movie. (Readers, no cheating. No Google.) Screen all comments.
4. Post the answers.

13. Demolition Man
14. Looks like The Sting, but I have to confess, I haven't seen it.

You should definitely check out Porco Rosso... I think you'd really like the main character. And it's all noir-y. Well, as much as the sun-soaked Mediterranean can be.

The first Ghibli thing I ever saw was Nausicaa, at your old place on the big projector...

Wait, I did... Oh, it's in a new post. I figured people who read my journal from their friendslist only might not look back to this post to see, so I did a whole value-added thing in a new post with answers.

Ooh,

11. But this is The Princess Bride
10. dunno

Aw, stylish? Thanks!

You didn't like Sandra Bullock in Demolition Man, or after? I had an inherited aversion to Sylvester Stallone until Demolition Man...

I need to get out more.

1. Um...wow...I've seen this...but when? And where? And what?
2. I have no clue
3. X2: I love Sir ian McClellan as Magnete
4. That looks rather Van Helsing, but I never saw the movie, so I'm not sure.
5. Is that Ron Perlman?
6. T2: God bless Linda Hamilton
7. Young Indiana Jones
8. $#!+. I should know this
9. $#!+. I should know this, too
10. $#!+. I should...you get the picture.
11. The Princess Bride: I know something you don't know...
12. Pirates of the Caribbean.
13. No clue, but that seems to be Sandra Bullock so I ought to know that one, too.
14. Yeah, uh, I'll get back to you.
15. Mystery Men: DON'T MESS WITH THE BOWLER!!!

Yep, it is Ron Perlman. First place I saw him, and I've liked him ever since. City of Lost Children is a neat flick, in a very weird way. By the same guy who did Amelie.

I've got guesses, yes I do....

1. "León", aka "The Professional". *Love* that movie.
2. "Casablanca"
3. "X2" -- I believe that would be Magneto demonstrating why this DVD was so appropriate as a gift to the spouse on our "iron anniversary", hee!
4. "Bubba Ho-Tep"
5. ???
6. Umm... is that Linda Hamilton in "Terminator 2"?
7. That looks like... River Phoenix or Leonardo DiCaprio. Holding a cross. And facing down Indiana Jones and the Extras From A Jim Jarmusch Movie. Oh, wait, that *is* River Phoenix, at the beginning of "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade"! Hah!
8. Uhh... "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid"?
9. Dunno.
10. Dunno, probably should.
11. "The Princess Bride"
12. Hah! Nice juxtaposition. "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl"
13. Oh. Oh, oh, oh. I've heard a story that Sandra Bullock wears a dress made of glass in this movie, some outrageous designer thing that cost tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. After a long day of shooting, with the crew getting restless, Sly decided to raise spirits by grabbing the matching purse, rubbing it up and down over the dress washboard-style, and announcing, "Hey, look, I'm playing Sandra's dress!" The designer, however, was unamused when the dress came back covered in scratches. Don't have any idea what the movie is, though, unfortunately....
14. Maybe... "Tombstone"?
15. "Mystery Men", hee!

Most entertaining reply. :) I'd not heard the glass dress story. And it's a thoroughly appropriate iron anniversary gift...

Oh! And since you liked Amelie, I bet you'd like City of Lost Children, too. They're by the same guy. (Though I haven't seen Amelie... I suspect it's less creepy-weird, so it might be geared to different tastes.)
