Anyway, so maybe you want to help make one or the other or both Big Damn Hits, and you're thinking about buying a ticket to Serenity and going to see something else...?
Good thought. What you ought to see is The Constant Gardener.
It was a great movie, not just good. Probably will be one of the Madeline-voted top three this year. It was edge-of-the-seat suspenseful, without being cheap. It showed a beautiful relationship, how it developed, how it strained, how it recovered. It was colorful. It was deep. Bring a handkerchief. The mystery played out well. It said useful things about the world. Ralph Fiennes has a really nice nose, and they showed him in profile a lot.
Not many Oscar-type movies I recommend, but this one is definitely one you should see.
