So, we've got a dining room in this house with a baroque chandelier hung with lavender crystals... Fake fireplace, faded tropical paisley wallpaper, print of Michaelangelo's Last Supper...
One of my housemates has friends who needed to get rid of a pool table.
It's here, now. To get it here the movers had to take it apart, which involved peeling the felt off the slates that make the top. Alas, putting the felt back on wasn't in their job description, so we haven't been able to play yet...
There was talk about how to put on the felt. "We could staple it on... I read about this on the internet..." said a housemate. "It looks like it was glued," I said, looking at it. "I bet we could get clamps at the tool lending library." (Yet another Thing That Is Awesome About Oakland) "Maybe with an electric staple gun!" sez the housemate. "I don't think staples would go in to slate..." sez I.
She mentioned Friday that she'd picked up an electric staple gun at the tool lending library. ~What's that, Lassie? You think I should spend the weekend hiding in my room reading, occasionally cackling at the noises of staples bouncing off slate? Yeah, me too.~
