How cool am I?
Jul. 10th, 2005 02:08 pmI am teh cool. This morning I got up early and listed some crap on eBay; crap that has been sitting around waiting to be listed on eBay for more years than one. I have, in fact, not listed anything at all on eBay except big multiple-user things like the piano and the washer/dryer we bought at a garage sale (for $25, and sold for $300). So I'm somewhat pleased with myself. There is, alas, a lot of crap still to be listed.
But the super-cool thing is that, inspired by dumping out a box and finding some of my stash of Christmas lights (some I was unable to find last Christmas, in fact), I assembled all my Christmas lights into one location, unravelled all the strings and tied them with twisty ties so they'll stay ordered, and tested all the strands and bulbs. Yes, even the ones without bulbs that I got from the Goodwill, and garage sales, and eBay 3-5 years ago that I've never tried... One didn't work, and I can throw it out! Yay!
Also, at about 25 lbs of lights filling a legal-size bankers box to the brim, I think I may have just about all the Christmas lights I need. This knowlege adds +3 to my "resist potentially shiny thing" roll. Good thing, since my save vs. Christmas lights is pretty damn low. So much neat stuff... I have battery-powered lights, y'know? Draped them over me once a few years ago when Buffy was undriveable and I had to bicycle to the hang gliding culb meeting in the dark... Some old guy tourist from Asia stopped me to talk about them with glee.
