Things that are nifty
May. 27th, 2005 12:53 pmLast night on the way home from kali, I was turning right, stopping first to wait for a pedestrian to cross the street. She looked like a black version of the German lady who yelled in "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" to alert the rest that Indy and his dad had appeared in the fireplace of their ops center... But she glanced over at me and I smiled at her, and she smiled back. Nifty! The ability to induce smiles in humans! A source of niftiness you figure out at 3 months of age and get to keep for the rest of your life.
Also nifty: double-corrugated cardboard boxes. They're so sturdy! So much useful potential! I mean, I like cardboard boxes in general; I've mentioned before how nice the smell of cold cardboard is. Double-corrugated cardboard, though, is the best and rarest of all. I have a very hard time indeed resisting the lure of a clean, strong, double-corrugated cardboard box. As evidenced by the one at my feet presently...
