Eeeeee! I got into every one of my first-choice games for ACUS! ee ee ee ee ee. Awesome. Eeeee!

Ok. I'm stifling my urge to ee now. Yes. Stuffing it down. Right.

This is going to rock!

Slot 1: "Enlightened Self Interest" by Mark MacK.
Slot 2: "Son of a B---- Must Pay" by Madeline F.
Slot 3: "The End of All Roads" by James A.
Slot 4: "Splinters of Amber (LARP)" by James A.
Slot 5: "Mars Ascending" by Kristen S.
Slot 6: "Ghost Engines in the Sky" by Nicholas F.
Slot 7: "Force 10 from Avalon: "...An Invitation to the State of Rigor Mort..."" by [livejournal.com profile] tragic_glass
Slot 8: "Ten Little Amberites" by Stephen A.

If you're wondering, what is this "ACUS"? Or, what are these games? The place to look is the Ambercon website; the game info is found under the "GAME BOOK" link in the sidebar.

I'm going to have to unearth the Rebman wig I picked up after Halloween two years ago, saved for just such an occasion...

I sent away the quiz and instructions for Son of a Bitch, though one player slipped in a query and character concept before I did, which I heartily approve of... Initiative, thirst for vengeance, just what I need.

I need to check on all the other games I'm in to see if I should be sending off emails to those GMs...

Oh, and Silent E will be along for the first two days to check out the library managment school at UMich, one of the places she was accepted, so she'll maybe get to meet [livejournal.com profile] a2macgeek and other cool people...

I'm so looking forward to the fancy hotel. Or is it fancy? The picture of the atrium looks pretty swank, and I seem to recall that it offers free tea in the rooms... Even an unfancy hotel would be nice: the bland art, the curious carpet patterns, the thoroughly conditioned air with a breath of chlorine... I wonder if I'll have time to hit the pool? Been a long long time since I've immersed myself in water... Immersing myself in gamers is, of course, far better.

Is this going to be as much like Amber boot camp as ACNW? I can hope. ;)

I detest that hotel. I suppose it's okay. It is, in some ways, "swankier" than other hotels I've stayed at. I mean, I've gone to a few family reunions, and the meeting facilities there are pretty shite. So, in terms of "spiffy" factor I guess it rates high. But it ain't no Edgefield.

Aw. Anything particularly I should watch out for in it?

I sorta like all hotels because I'm always doing fun stuff when I'm in them, like going to cons or sleeping while travelling across the country. Good associations. (Except for hotels in Vegas, which are eeeeville.)

The Edgefield is pretty unique, while this is a chain hotel, so of course it's not going to be the same. That said, the open atrium in the center is pretty cool - makes it easy to see people all over the hotel. And the free breakfast is very nice. Plus there's a hot tub. :)

Yep, free breakfast is a definite thing I'm looking forward to. And I don't mind that it's not like the Edgefield; I like chain hotels, too...
