After all,
aiyume did introduce me to the Sandman books, from which I picked up at least one key bit of my non-Christian life philosophy... I went to the reading and signing Neil Gaiman did at Cody's for _American Gods_ (it was amazing, if you ever get a chance to see Neil Gaiman do something, don't miss it, he's thoroughly splendid). In fact, praise for Neil's in-person events slips the bounds of parentheses. He read the bit of _American Gods_ set in the Haight... "Wednesday, he's
blushing! You brought me a
blusher!" Absolutely beautiful. Anyway, so then Neil signed for everyone in the line, which was hours long; I got up to his table near the very end, and was able to thank him personally for helping me to crystallize a bit of my philosophy. I think he even heard, though by that time he was very glazed-over looking. ;)
Anyway, where was I? Oh, right. Jesus. C'mon, you know
kit_kindred. Does it not fit? Eh? Eh?
Honestly, the whole thing is just very very fitting. Quite pleased.
