Heard That Song Before
Aug. 10th, 2004 08:22 pmThe "really really oldies" station in the Bay Area is about 8th on my presets. Sunday, I happened to page through and catch a song that I loved from the first notes to the last. Thanks to Google and WinMX, now it is mine... Harry James and Hellen Forest, "I've Heard That Song Before."
I collected two versions, and listening to one I could hear the speckle of the LP, or even phonograph record... And it came to me that this was just the sort of song to twist up the volume on to pretend not hear something unpleasant going on in the next room. A la "Hellboy"...
Reminds me of last night's dream. Why is it, I've been wondering all day, that I have the real kinetic memory of how it is to catch and silently lower a still-warm body?
