This is what I've been up to:

Friday evening, I saw that Doyce was suddenly flying out to Comic Con in San Diego after finding out that Sunday Joss Whedon and the entire cast of "Firefly" were going to be doing a panel with clips from the new movie, "Serenity". So starting around midnight, I drove down to San Diego Comic Con. There's a separate post if I ever saw one... (Damn it was good! And, you're all going to have to go see "Shaun of the Dead" when it comes out in September. Don't worry, you'll thank me later.)

Monday, I called in sick. I'd gotten in around 2, after nearly no sleep for a long time, and my stomach was all twisted up. I went back to bed and slept until 2. Great fun. Turned out that half the lab was out sick with horrible stuff, so my absence was splendidly camoflaged. Yesterday one of my coworkers told me that I looked better... Tuesday I'd looked like hell. My immediate boss concurred. "Hm," I said.

Yesterday, I got a couple tiny cavities filled (and heard I had a "high pain tolerance"), and then went with [livejournal.com profile] aiyume to see Barenaked Ladies and Alanis Morissette at Shoreline... He'd called me Monday with an extra ticket. We sat on the lawn. BNL have great lyrics, and are very fun to watch. I had a fun discussion with his sweetie Kathleen in the intermission about how DS9 is the best Trek.

This morning I woke up late because I'd been absorbed in a dream in which I was arguing with a roommate two years gone about whether black bears or grizzly bears were more unpredictable. This had arisen from an image of a polar bear whacking the head off of an eskimo after barely opening an eye, and then going back to sleep. I wondered whether the bear had the jaw strength to eat the eskimo's body after it froze through... Amusing snooze alarm image, though. I do love my brain. Also, tea. Wheeee!
