Having a fine time here
Dec. 25th, 2006 09:27 pmInterestingly, in the last few days I've had a feeling that my luck is something I can lean on. On Saturday, I went to the Oakland Airport to fly out on standby, since my flight to my parents's in Denver on Wednesday was cancelled by the blizzard. (This scheme was less fun than I'd expected. ( ...pause )
But, the thing is, though all this I had basically no fear that I'd be left with my ass in the breeze. It all worked out pretty much as I planned: get to OAK, get to one of the connecting cities (preferably LAS, due to affinity with
kit_kindred), get to Denver in time to go to the family Christmas party at my grandmother's house Sunday. Where we played poker and I came out with 320% of what I went in with (I won $11. Woo! Now I'm up in my general poker-with-friends-for-money situation!) A lot of luck is observation, patience, and attitude... But some of luck is just luck.
So, here's wishing you guys all a happy holiday season, and lots of luck in the New Year.
