For the second, I took the suggestion of putting my family name first, and I've finally gotten a translation of it into Japanese that I appreciate. Neat doodad, this generator. The translations are fascinating...

Got this from the LJ of whumpdotcom, which I was visiting because he and my friend obadiah went down to watch the SpaceShipOne launch in the Mojave, and he was sending LJ posts in throughout, transcribed by phone...

The fact that I also got "Fujiwara (wisteria fields)" for my family name makes me suspect this thing isn't terribly accurate....

Probably it just doesn't have a whole lot of F names. I went looking around on the web after, to see if I could get closer on the first character (Like, does the name "Futawara" exist? No), and found this list of common Japanese last names (http://business.baylor.edu/Phil_VanAuken//JapaneseSurnames.html), so I bet you could find something closer there, but alas, it doesn't have the fascinating translations.

I got Fujiwara too. Has anyone with a last name beginning with 'F' gotten something different?

And based on the instructions for the generator, I think they intend for you to input your last name first.
