Well, so far today I've had two cups of Bigelow English Teatime (pretty bad, but the only drinkable stuff Bigelow makes, and Bigelow tea is provided free at work) and one package of Chai Gold Plain Low Sugar, which is a tea/powdered milk premix that I get from the Indian importer since I can't find powdered chai elswhere.

I have had two English Breakfast tea-bags, and one cup of Earl Grey made in some extraordinary cups that had a ceramic coffee-strainer-shaped thing in them. The tea was good, but took ages to strain through, and then there wasn't much in the cup.

Hm! I wonder if a vacuum flask (http://orgchem.colorado.edu/equipment/glassware/vacfl.html) could make good tea?

What was the ceramic strainer supposed to filter out?

You may want to try one of the vacuum coffee makers. I've heard they are excellent for coffee ... that should translate over to tea pretty well.

Fascinating! It looks like a hookah!

It also looks hard to clean, what with the tiny opening in the top of the coffee chamber, and the tiny waterpath in the funnel. Still... It's so pretty... And it involves open flame...

Tea-leaves, in this case. But it might have actually been designed to hold a coffee filter, which would make more sense.
