I don't think it would be reasonable to conclude that women in general are unwelcome. I've always gamed with women, so the concept of gaming group as sausage fest is alien to me. But if an all-male group was afflicted with women like this (e.g. their girlfriends), I'm thinking that particular group wouldn't be inclined to welcome females into their midst.

There are plenty of girls out there like this. They're fun to look at, they're fun to party with. They like to be the center of somebody's attention, and when you're the one providing the attention it's a great time. They're entirely disruptive to group cohesion though. I'm sure there are plenty of men who also behave this way, but relatively few of them have tried to attract my attention and I'm not interested in providing it, so I don't see them.

It's exactly like the guys who have to hit on the only woman at the table. It's being done for the same reason, and with the same effect on group cohesion.
