zdashamberOzomatli will be in town! At the Fillmore! Best venue in the Bay Area, awesome band, only $25! I am totally going. And if you're cool and lucky you can go with. Anyone who needs to know the spiff that is Ozomatli, I'll mail you a CD. Actually, I may mail you a CD anyway. (Actually, the CD reader in my computer seems to have failed, so I might not be able to manage that for a bit...)
I bought "Street Signs" because I loved "Who Discovered America". Sound I hadn't heard before; they mix rap and middle-eastern and piano and hispanic. It comes out really bright. It's great music to have on when stuck in traffic late for something, or on your way to a session of asskicking... The beat carries you into a good mindset.
I'm thinking Friday the 2nd of December, when they're playing with the son of Santana. Saturday, son of Santana and a hip-hop band from Oakland; and Ozomatli is really my only foray into hip-hop so far, so I'm leaning towards focusing.
It's well-knit music. You should check it out.
