I kees you!
Jul. 16th, 2004 09:01 pmWednesday late I checked theonionavclub.com, and I saw it... "Also Reviewed: Batman: The Animated Series, Volume One"
Yes!!!
This is the only thing I've been waiting for. Years! Every Christmas I'd put it on my list, in case it existed somewhere... Years and it's here now—
First chance to get it today I was at Best Buy, no point waiting for shipping
Watching it as the room gets darker
How much of my mind is wrapped around this series? Nobility, duty, romance, nouveau... And I was finding that no, I wasn't wrong, it really did kick ass: worthwhile bad guys, sleek black-backed animation (and the backgrounds!), excellent music, amazing voice talent, fascinating silences that bring home how dark and lonely it is there... And, really, did I mention the characterizations?
Ok, now I'm going back to the DVD.
( A bit more of the stuff I love )

Robin: "Ok, I'll make a deal with you. If we go out on patrol and Gotham is quiet, with no sign of the Joker, we come back here, have Christmas dinner, and watch It's a Wonderful Life."I kees you, Batman! I kees you, theonvionavclub! I kees you, world!
Batman: "You know, I've never seen that. I could never get past the title."
