CW1: "He was dating this girl he met off the internet... A wiccan."
CW2: "A wiccan? I'd be scared to have one in my house!"
Me: "Well, they might burn some whacko incense and stink the place up, but..."
CW2: "Aren't they devil-worshippers?!"
Me: [not rolling eyes] "No, the devil is a Christian thing..."
CW2: "No it isn't!"

....Right.

It was really weird to run into that misconception "in the wild", as it were. I'd never heard of it before except in books and on the web. And the salacious thrill behind the devil worshippers! comment... Weird, weird, weird.
