Madeline,

You'll notice that I don't claim that these women were representative, or that women were evenly represented on the con com. I make no assertions about whether men or women do more stupid things while drunk.

I saw very few people of either gender who were obviously drunk. In fact I saw one man (a friend) and three women total who seemed to be intoxicated. Everybody seemed to hold their liquor pretty well. The three women were being moderately disruptive. The drunk male missed a shift in the computer lounge, but the woman who covered it for him didn't mind because it turned out to be a pretty good social hub. Nothing particularly stupid in either case, although I would personally have felt bad about being too drunk to cover my obligations.

As for my assinine comment, I think you're reading relationships into that analogy that certainly aren't intended. In a group of men a woman would be the outsider. In a group of adults a child would be an outsider. In a group of dogs a cat would be an outsider. I'm no more implying that women are cats than I am that women are children, and I'm sorry if you read it that way. Coincidentally, if women are cats, at what point in the marriage would it be appropriate for my wife to present me with a dead bird? My cat did so after the first year, and I have yet to receive a dead bird from my wife. I begin to suspect that cats and wives are very different things (or that my cat holds me in higher regard).
