I was completely shocked by the reaction the game received. While a solid majority of people were as horrified by some of the comments as I was, a non-trivial minority of the people commenting were clearly sexist homophobes who were also absolutely clueless that the more "controversial" (a word I now rather loathe) aspects of Blue Rose were common tropes in most romantic fantasy novels. The second of these revelations shocked me as much as the first - I'm still baffled that people who clearly read fantasy novels by many different authors had never even been exposed to these ideas in fantasy novels.
